Well I hope everyone had a great christmas, I went home to London to be with my family and friends. It was a great refresher, I purposely did not take my camera with me so I couldn’t shot. Of course that didn’t stop be being inspired by everything around me. I think it by the third day of me pointing out great shoot locations everyone was ready to kill me. Funny how you dont notice the things under your nose sometimes, nothing like spending twenty years some not to notice anything around you.

Have a lot of trips that arent photography based in the next few months. LA in September, NYC in October and three country trip in December. I’m thinking I’m going to use the time to work with some new people. I have a bunch of new ideas to shoot in my head that need to be let free but probably not on a client quite yet. That five hour drive to LA is great, have to take a notepad to right down all the ideas I get on that drive.

Well, it was certainly an interested experience as expected. Just a little different from what I had expected. I was hoping to win, but coming third wasn?t a reflection on my work, Nothing to do with my work or model interaction, I kicked ass on those. But being late killed me, gotta love car troubles when your far from home. Still won on what I have less control of, being late I can fix that.

Some great locations that I?m going to come back and shoot more fully once the weather cools down a bit, 115 degrees on day one in the desert. How anyone worked let alone got the great images that I saw is amazing, My only regret is that I didn?t get to shoot on Sunday. Had a lot of ideas I wanted to play with but thats the way these things work out. As usual I met some great people and made some great new friends. I can see me coming to Best of the Best even when I shoot for Vogue Italia. Something about how this who event plays out thats it addictive.

Well its almost time again to go to Primm again, I’m really looking forward to it. Its nice to be to relax and get to try out the craziest ideas I have before dropping them on a client. Plus being around people that love photography and model, although we’ll see how much they love it when its 115 degrees, is really nice as well. Candace my favorite mua isnt coming. I chatted with her today, she said she’s sending Jodi and Nicole with orders to look after me. Funny.

Hope we get on, I loved the whole makeup team last year and that reflected in the images I got. Makeup Artist are gods, no point in shooting without them, and if you dont have a good vibe with them its like having an awkward shoot with a model, although you cant pull out a good image when makeup isnt happening.

So I’m off to LA to see my good friend Gordon Vasquez, he started a video entertainment company called RealTVFilms. They’re extremely supportive of aspiring film makers in the US. Which we’re a big fan off, its all about giving back.

We’ll be back in LA again in the middle of April for three photoshoots, it’ll be a crazy trip especially as I’ll be work with Greg Truelove!

So its been a crazy few months since we did the look book for Rebecca Beeson. We love the results and you can see them up on the main portfolio site.

We’ve had some team changes lots of travel.

Ryan our Stylist got married and moved to Texas, said he’d travel to wherever we were for the Kate Moss shoot.

Raymond Yeung our Intern headed to New York to school. We wish him luck and he’ll still be assisting when we shoot in New York but unfortunately not available to travel as much as he had before with us.

Maurice went to Bora Bora for a shoot, fortunately for me I’m not a big fan of beaches otherwise I’d be really jealous of that one.

So got some great news this week a client in London wants us to shoot next month. Which coincides with a call we got from a designer in Milano thanks to a model we shoot last year who is working with them. So we’re excited, I’ve been to Milano many times but this will be the first time we get to shoot there. Some how we’ve never made it out of Roma.

Well, Vegas turned out to be a learning experience at best… not quite what I’d expected, but I was proud of my work, received high praise from the judges, and my model was by far the biggest crowd pleaser and photo op – passer bys were busting out cel phones to snap a shot! That was warm and fuzzy.

Well I’m here in Atlanta for the premier of Best of Best 3, Its great to hang out with all the new friends I made in Primm.

So I was amazed to find out I won not only best photography but also for the best individual image. I thought I was in for a chance at best photographer, although its hard to really tell especially as being a reality show its not just going to about the quality of your images. The best image thing totally threw me, If nothing else I figured someone else would win it just because they wouldnt want to give all the spoils of victory to a single person.

I want to take a chance to thank everyone that made it possible for me to win this the models especially Ginger, Jocelyn, and Hilda. Candace Corey and her great makeup team. Without them I would have been shooting landscape and everyone know I can’t shoot that stuff to save my life.
